Many artists want to create work that has a social impact. Unfortunately, organizing a successful social-change campaign isn’t often part of an artist’s education. The Art Action Academy (AAA) is a weekend training helping socially-engaged artists make their work more impactful and better evaluate the effect of their work.
Building upon the success of the School for Creative Activism, in which community organizers are trained in cultural tactics and creative strategies, the Art Action Academy flips this model on its head, reorienting the workshops toward artists. Instead of training grassroots change-makers to become more creative, the AAA train socially engaged artists to become more effective change-makers.

Training for Change has been increasing capacity around the world for activist training since 1992. When we say activist training, we mean training that helps groups stand up more effectively for justice, peace and the environment.
We specialize in training trainers, to create a ripple effect in quality activist training. We support activists, but we challenge them, too. We refuse to collude with activists' thinking small or undermining their own power. Instead, our approach challenges activists to step fully into their power.

SOUL is a school to build a movement.
SOUL is working to lay the groundwork for a strong social justice movement by supporting the development of a new generation of organizers rooted in a systemic change analysis -especially people of color, young women, queer and transgender youth and low-income people. We believe that – in order for organizers to build an effective movement for fundamental social change – they need support to develop the nuts-and-bolts organizing skills they need to mobilize their communities and to deepen their political analysis and their visions for fundamental social change. SOUL helps to build the capacity of organizers and leaders of grassroots organizations to win systemic change.
